FAQ For Solomon Manor
Here, have some answers.
Why is the Wiki called "Solomon Manor"?
Solomon Manor is pretty much the only thing the two story series have in absolute common. This elegant residence on the outskirts of London was once the home of legendary adventurer Allan Quatermain, who named it for King Solomon's mine, where he made his fortune. It was later the property of his daughter, Elizabeth, and her descendants.
So what's the connection?
One of the cast of "Brink" is descended from Elizabeth. He uses his ancestral home for the good of the League he administrates.
What's the basic concept of TPDoEQ?
After the events of the movie The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Allan Quatermain's daughter ends up living and traveling with the surviving League members because of legal problems. The whole story is her account of their adventures, as told to her personal diary.
What's the basic concept of the Brink series?
In the modern day, supernatural forces are again a thorn in the side of the world. A new League is assembled from a group of seven specially-gifted individuals to help stop these evil entities from achieving their nefarious goals.
How many points is nefarious worth in Scrabble?
It depends on whether there's a special square involved or if -- be quiet.
Where can I read these stories?
The TPDoEQ stories are readable at Fanfiction.net or at the League of Extraordinary Fanfiction. "Brink" and its sequels are not yet available for public viewing, but hopefully will be before very long.
What's with the real people representations?
Well, Lady Norbert had it easy, since the majority of her recurring characters came pre-cast on account of the movie. That is to say, she already knew what they looked like. She only had to put faces with Elizabeth and the other original guys. Phoenix's cast is all original characters. Anyway, the point is that we tend to pick out real-life individuals who physically resemble the mental images of our characters. They're not necessarily a perfect match, but they're pretty close to our imaginings.
Where did you get the drawings of the EQ cast?
The pictures used in the Wiki of the Diary characters were all drawn by very gracious people who decided to send Lady Norbert the things they were inspired to draw. Why, she has no idea, but she loves them all to death. To see the full pictures (instead of the cropped versions shown here), or for more fan art of the series done by other talented and magnanimous artists, just hop over to her website and have a look. There's a link from her profile.
I have a question that isn't covered here, will you answer it?
