Shining Phoenix is the fan fiction-writing pen name of Kerri Toland, an aspiring novelist. She has yet to have anything professionally published despite having tried several times, but has a work in progress that is almost constantly being interrupted by other muses.

Before venturing into the LXG universe, she gave writing in the Harry Potter verse a try but discovered that it was not really to her liking. While she has yet to put up any of her League fictions (which revolve around the missions of a modern day League comprised of all original characters), they have yet to be called terrible by those who she has allowed to read them, which has prompted her to continue with them. Though it can take up to a year for her complete a full length piece (she blames the muses and various other projects for this), she attempts to finish what she starts, though this can occasionally be hard for her. After having lost her interest in typing up the adventures of her League, she has recently regained the spark and hopes to get back to writing soon.

When she is not writing, she is typically reading mystery novels, chatting online or sitting down to watch a bit of television. She lives in Texas with her parents, her younger brother, her cat, Sissy and her dog, Max.
